The historical existence of Ibadan East Local Council Development Area, (IBELCDA) can be traced to the official announcement of the immediate past Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi around December 2016. In the pronouncement of the Governor he announced that, 35 LCDAs have been carved out of the existing 33 Local Government Area in Oyo State having been approved by the Oyo State House of Assembly.

          IBELCDA officially took-off with splitting of staff into two (2) which also backed by the posting instructions from Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.

          On the 7th April, 2017  Senator Abiola Ajimobi Sworn – in Prince Gbade Lana as the pioneer Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan East Local Council Development Area along side with other Chairmen in the rest LGAs and LCDAs in the state and was also sworn in as the Executive Chairman of this same noble Local Council Development Area in April 2018.

          Also, Hon. Abiodun Babalola was Sworn – in as the Caretaker Chairman of Ibadan East LCDA on December 24th 2019, after Governor Seyi Makinde has dissolved the past Chairmen  in May, 2019. He is the second to serve in office as the Caretaker Chairman.

          The indigenes of Ibadan East Local Council Development Area are predominantly Yoruba’s of Ibadan ethnic origin but punctuated by other inhabitants which cut across racial, religious and ethnic background. It must be stated that indigenes of Ibadan East Local Council Development Area comprises of civil servants, artisans, petty traders, business women and men engaging in buying and selling of different types of goods, ranging from household needs, foodstuff, building/electrical materials.

          The present Ibadan East Local Council Development Area was carved out from Ibadan North East Local Government with ten wards (10) which are listed below:

          Ward 01 Beyerunka has its headquarter at Beyerunka Primary School

          Ward 02 Oranyan/Ogboriefon with its headquarter at Ogboriefon Hall

           Ward 03 Ojagbo with its with its headquarter at Ajobo

          Ward 04 Ile Laduni with its headquarter at Adelagun Primary School

          Ward 05 Ile Aperin with its headquarter at Olubadan Primary School

          Ward 06 Agugu with its headquarter at Lagelu

          Ward 07 Aderogba with its headquarter at Aderogba

          Ward 08 Oje with its headquarter at IMG Primary School

          Ward 09 Aremo with its headquarter at HLA Primary School

          Ward 10 Ode Aje with its headquarter at  IMG School

 

          Also, Ibadan East LCDA has total number of twelve health centres, which are:
